Slide 2 As part of the compliance process, a private school new to the McKay Scholarship program must submit a School Fee Schedule to the School Choice Office; and each year, participating McKay schools must renew their School Fee Schedule online. Slide 3 Each McKay Student Fee Schedule will be based on items on the School Fee Schedule, so be sure to plan ahead and include tuition and all academic fees and services offered to McKay students at your school. Slide 4 In addition to tuition, fees that are required to attend your private school such as registration and enrollment are acceptable fee schedule items. Also acceptable are services such as tutoring and therapy, and other items such as uniforms, supplies and educational field trips. Slide 5 Non-academic items are not acceptable for the School Fee Schedule. The McKay Scholarship does not cover items such as sports fees, recreational field trips, meals, or snacks. Slide 6 Fee schedule items can be priced at a flat, per year rate; or a per hour or per unit rate. Since items on the School Fee Schedule must be used to build all students’ fee schedules, you may prefer the per unit scale for some items so that student fees can be individualized. If your school provides different amounts of tutoring or therapy, for example, to different students and bills according to hours used, the per unit fee schedule option may be appropriate for those categories. Slide 7 Changes to items on your school’s fee schedule, such as adding a new service or making a correction to an existing item, should be submitted to our office on school letterhead via fax or mail. Slide 8 Annually, just before the reenrollment window opens for the upcoming school year, participating schools must review and update their fee schedules online. Starting May 1, a notice will appear at the bottom of the private school’s “Welcome” page stating that the fee schedule needs to be updated. Once the fee schedule is updated, a notice of confirmation will appear. Slide 9 Select the update link from your current School Fee Schedule to make updates for the new year. Slide 10 You’ll see the current fee schedule and have the option to edit the amount associated with each item. When you’re finished be sure to click “submit” at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Slide 11 To finish up, you’ll develop and submit your first School Fee schedule in writing during the compliance process, and annually review and confirm schedule item amounts for the upcoming school year.
