Private schools must verify the continued attendance of and regular and direct contact with each McKay 
scholarship student to receive scholarship payments.

Attendance verification is required prior to the November, February, and April payments. Usually, 
verification is available to private schools for one week, just after the enrollment deadline.

When attendance verification opens, a link will appear at the bottom of the school’s Welcome page. Use 
the attendance verification form to confirm that each of the students on the list are still enrolled at your 
school and are under the direct instruction of a private school teacher at your school’s physical location.

Read the provided information and complete the steps as directed to confirm the continued attendance 
of each student and to confirm regular and direct contact for each student.

After confirming the enrollment and regular and direct contact of each student, be sure to click “Finish” 
to complete the Attendance Verification process. Print the confirmation page and retain for your 
records.

Students newly enrolled or transferred to a private school after the enrollment deadline also must have 
their attendance verified before becoming eligible to receive payment. 

Once such a student has attended your school for 10 school days, submit a Scholarship Issue Form and a 
copy of the student’s daily attendance record. The School Choice office can manually enter attendance 
for the student, and if the school is eligible, the student’s payment will be processed during the next 
payment batch.

Remember, when a scholarship student attends more than one school in the same payment period, the 
right to retain the scholarship payment is given to the first private school that the student attends for 
ten (10) or more school days during that payment period, as long as all other requirements are met.
