Employee Compliance Resources

The Ethics in Education Act (Senate Bill 1712), became effective July 1, 2008. The Act amended Section 1002.421, Florida Statutes, and added requirements to the existing employee screening process. The private school accountability statute was also amended to require private schools to develop standards of ethical conduct for the school’s instructional personnel and administrators. Finally, the Act requires private schools to comply with the state's child abuse, abandonment, and neglect policy. The information provided here is an attempt to summarize important personnel requirements related to the McKay and Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Programs. This information is only a guide, and the provisions in law take precedence.
